30 Random Predictions for the 2013 Baseball Season

1. Both of the Atlanta Braves' corner outfielders, Jason Heyward and Justin Upton, will finish in the top ten in NL MVP voting.
2. Bryce Harper will hit 30 home runs, steal 30 bases, put up a .900 OPS, finish in the top five in NL MVP voting, and be better than Mike Trout.
3. The Pittsburgh Pirates will once again fail to finish above .500.
4. Joe Mauer will win his fourth batting title, and lead the league in on-base-percentage too for good measure.
5. The league leaders in home runs will be Jose Bautista and Giancarlo Stanton.
6. The closer for the San Francisco Giants will eventually be Tim Lincecum.
7. Melky Cabrera will hit .300.
8. The Houston Astros will lose the most games in baseball, but the Marlins, Twins, and Rockies won't be too far behind.
9. Yu Darvish will lead the majors in strikeouts.
10. Yoenis Cespedes will hit 30 home runs, steal 20 bases, and start on the American League All-Star team.
11. Matt Wieters will hit at least 30 home runs, leading all catchers.
12. This season's breakout starter will be Jeff Samardzija, who will post a sub-3.50 ERA and strike out over 200 batters for the Chicago Cubs.
13. This season's breakout closer will be Trevor Rosenthal of the St. Louis Cardinals.
14. The best rookie to make his major league debut in 2013 will be Oscar Taveras, also of the St. Louis Cardinals.
15. The Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Cleveland Indians will all be better than people think.
