With Respect to the Monday Night Football Debacle

I don't have any comment on the most bizarre ending to any football game since the California Bears. Enough will be said about that by everyone else in the world. Rather, the most entertaining part of the entire surreal scene was this quote from former NFL coach and TV color man Jon Gruden at the end of the game:

"There's no way Green Bay should have to fly 6,000 miles home after losing a game like this."

Because apparently, Jon Gruden thinks Green Bay is a suburb of Beijing.

<<< Oddsmakers said millions of dollars changed hands on that now-famous play.

"Due to one call by the replacement refs, the bettors lost $150 million, and the bookie won $150 million for a total swing of $300 million on one debatably bad call," said RJ Bell of Las Vegas-based Pregame.com. >>>

    1. The most egregious part of the whole thing isn't the call itself, but the fact that the official who made the touchdown ruling wasn't even deemed qualified enough to be a Division I college official. That's on the commissioner.
